PROFILE
At the "Crossroads of the East," Grove
City is one of the most ideally located communities in the region. The Grove
City area offers an affordable cost of living and excellent schools within a
serene environment ranging from downtown neighborhoods and residential
developments to rural properties and farms.
Grove City, located near the crossroads of Interstates 79 and 80, has
more than 50 percent of the nation's major markets lying within a 50.0 - mile
radius.
One of the fastest-growing communities in Western Pennsylvania, Grove
City has a strong industrial base provided by Cooper Energy Services, a
producer of diesel engines and compressors; General Electric Transportation
Systems, which produces and repairs diesel locomotive engines; Ivex
Corporation, a manufacturer of corrugated paper products and plastic
thermoformed packaging materials; and several stable, smaller manufacturers.
Other major employers include Grove City
College, United Community
Hospital, the Grove City School
District, and the Grove City Factory Shops.
Grove City College offers strong

ranked it 11th in the nation among colleges and universities that provide the
best education for the dollar. The college enriches the community through its
guest lecturers, student theater, and musical productions. College students
serve as student teachers in the Grove City Area School District, repeatedly
