SERVICES PROVIDED:

• Advocacy - support groups available through hospitals
• Bus/van services - provided for patients going for cancer treatment. Also reimbursable for transportation for family taking patients
• Education - free programs for businesses, schools, clubs, organizations.
• Deals with prevention and early detection of cancer
• Equipment provisions - sickroom equipment is provided for cancer patients
• Medical Assistance - some financial assistance is given with prescription drugs which is paid directly to the pharmacy. Help is given with cost of ostomy supplies, dressings, hospital gowns, and nutritional supplements
• Self Help Groups - United Ostomy association meets monthly at Greenville Regional Hospital.
• Reach to Recovery volunteers visit newly diagnosed breast cancer patients
• Summer camps - a camp for children is held for 2 weeks in Lancaster County at no charge
• Other - wigs are provided free of charge to cancer patients
